Over 18 months ago the City Manager instituted a "Comment Card" program with the three different labor groups in the city. These cards were to check on how we were doing and what we could do better. If you are a Monrovia resident you might have seen one. A section on the card allows the recipient to fill in their own comment and then return the card to the City Manager.   Just drop it in the mail and he will receive it because the cards are pre-paid postage. The Monrovia Police Department has been told, by City Hall, the responses received in regards to the MPD are overwhelmingly positive, in fact over 95% positive.

We understand residents call us not during their best moments.  We understand some of the actions we take are not considered positive with the people we deal with but we have a job to do and we must act within the parameters of the law to do that job.  With that, we expected to receive some negative feedback.  The MPD and MPOA has been very pleased with the responses. 

The below comments are the responses from February 2008 that were provided to the MPD from the City.  This list is in its entirety and has not been changed.  Both favorable and not so favorable have been included.

They were great!  We made the error of not getting out of the park in time and they made a good trip even better through the humor they used.  I expected to be "scolded" and I received the total opposite and appreciated the response.  It did not cast any shadow on our trip at all!  Thank you both!   
0. Officer Nelson was fast, courteous and informative.  He made the whole ordeal an easy experience for us.  Thank you so much.
0. This officer was courteous, professional and was interested in the information I gave him.  I have not been very happy with some of your officers, they have an aloof attitude.  Not good for community cooperation!  This officer was tops, a true gentleman!

I was in a traffic accident on Monday, January 14th.  Officer Mittmann responded to the call.  He took charge of the situation, made sure that I was transported to the hospital, assured me that the other driver was in the wrong and generally put me at ease.  I know and appreciated that I was in excellent hands.  Thank you.
